Eastern Caribbean

The Eastern Caribbean is home to some of the Caribbean's most stunning and popular islands

We are all familiar with old favourites such as Barbados, St Lucia and Antigua with their stunning golden sand beaches. However the eastern Caribbean is dotted with many lesser known islands each with their own distinctive appeal.

St. Thomas

Stunning view in St. thomasPart of the United States Virgin Islands it is the only place under United States jurisdiction where the rule of the road is to drive on the left. However, because St. Thomas is a U.S. territory, most cars are imported from the mainland United States and therefore the steering column is located on the left side of the vehicle.

The island has many regular taxis from compact size to large vans, as well as open-air, covered trucks called "safari cabs" with bench seats. The “safari cabs” operate between the cruise-ship terminals at Havensight and Crown Bay and downtown Charlotte Amalie. Typically, they charge one dollar and are the cheapest way to navigate the islands.

If you are a beach lover take an excursion to Magens Bay on the north side of the island. Magens Bay features a well-protected white sand beach stretching for nearly three quarters of a mile. It is one of the most popular tourist beach destinations on the island.

Dominica

Dominica has been nicknamed the "Nature Isle of the Caribbean" for its unspoiled natural beauty. The island features lush mountainous rainforests, home of many rare plant, animal, and bird species. An excursion to the rainforest is a must where you can swim in a natural rock pool under under a waterfall.

The Sisserou Parrott (also known as the Imperial Amazon), the island's national bird, is featured on the national flag. Dominica's economy is heavily dependent on tourism and agriculture.

Tortola

Although the British Virgin Islands (BVI) are under the British flag, it uses the U.S. dollar as its official currency.

The Northern coast has the best beaches on the island, including Smuggler's Cove, Long Bay, Cane Garden Bay, Brewer's Bay, Josiah's Bay and Lambert beach. In addition, to beaches there is sailing, surfing, scuba diving, kite boarding, wind surfing, historic site, hiking and much more.

Saint Kitts

Saint Kitts and the neighbouring island of Nevis constitute one country: the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis. The island is one of the Leeward Islands in the Lesser Antilles. It is situated about 2,100 km (1,300 mi) southeast of Miami Florida.

One of the main island attractions is Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Designed by British military engineers and built and maintained by African slaves. It is one of the best preserved historical fortifications in the Americas.

Grand Turk

Caribbean Island sceneGrand Turk is the capital island of the Turks and Caicos, its historical heartbeat and home to a state of the art cruise ship centre.

The Grand Turk Cruise Centre consists of a 3000-foot pier, the welcome facility and recreational area, which includes a swimming pool, 1000 feet of beachfront, cabanas, shops and the world’s largest Margaritaville, providing food and beverages.

Cockburn Town is the centrepiece of the island with a wonderful selection of historical buildings and rustic charm, along with the Turks and Caicos National Museum.

The most popular excursion just off Grand Turk is Gibbs Cay, where visitors can enjoy an uninhabited island, a picnic on the beach and a chance to feed the beautiful stingrays who swim right up to the shore.
