We are gearing up to escape the four walls of our homes for a relaxing get away this summer, here are 6 gorgeous new UK holiday cottages for 2021 for the perfect staycation.
Here are some new holiday cottages with beautiful interiors designed by Joules specifically to create a bright and happy place.
Matt Brayley, Marketing Director at holidaycottages.co.uk:
“We’re thrilled to be announcing a further six additions to our popular Joules Collection of self-catering properties, with more to follow later this year. Our partnership with Joules, which began in 2019 and is much-loved by our customers, is founded on shared values that include a passion for the British coast and countryside, and creating and sharing beautiful interiors where friends and family can spend time together in stylish and relaxing surroundings.”
The collection includes properties in Cornwall, Devon, the Lake District, the Brecon Beacons and North Yorkshire:
CORNWALL: Padstow – Treetops
Cosy, dog-friendly lodge in a delightful forest setting
Sleeps two, plus one dog
A beautifully presented, open-plan lodge – it’s charming wood-clad interior reminiscent of a Lord of the Rings-style hobbit’s dwelling! – in a secluded woodland setting. Styled with thoughtfully chosen pieces from the British brand’s’ latest colourful homeware range, highlights include a cosy Joules sofa bed, perfect for curling up with a good book, as well as a sumptuous double, laden with crisp Joules bedding.
An expansive decked balcony offers guests fantastic forest views, whilst the fire pit makes it possible to eke out even chilly evenings beneath the stars. A footpath leads from the property to Padstow, with its pretty harbour and fantastic restaurants, just two miles away. Also within a short distance is the surfers’ paradise of Polzeath, plus Port Isaac, the enchanting fishing village well-known from the TV series Doc Martin.
Devon: No 36 By the Beach
Modish beach pad with balcony and bunk bedroom
Sleeps eight, plus two dogs
A contemporary beach house with plenty of space for everyone to spread out. Standing next to the Royal North Devon golf course and on the edge of the lively coastal village of Westward Ho! (blessed with a three-mile stretch of golden sand), the property offers wonderful views of the North Devon coastline both from the enclosed garden and from the full-width balcony.
Flourishes of Joules’ vibrant signature style complement the dwelling’s elegant interiors, from hand-picked dinnerware to luxurious bed linen. The accommodation is reverse level: upstairs the sleek kitchen / dining / living area features a wood-burner, Sky TV (full package) and bi-fold doors onto the spacious first-floor balcony. The four bedrooms are at ground level, including a bunk bedroom to add to the holiday fun for children, as indeed will The Big Sheep and The Milky Way, nearby family attractions.
Lake District: No 2 Rose Cottage
Dreamy cottage with a double-ended bath, close to Lake Windermere
Sleeps two
Just four miles from glorious Lake Windermere, is the ultimate romantic bolthole. The Joules feel is evident throughout with indulgent touches such as plush tasselled cushions and luxurious bedding. The king-size bedroom offers a sanctuary-like space, and the elegant bathroom has a double-ended free-standing bath.
Set in the village of Bouth, guests have the option of enjoying afternoon drinks or dinner at the popular local pub (a five-minute walk away), plus there is an excellent farm shop and a tearoom that sells highly-tempting home-made dairy ice cream from the farm’s own Jersey cows.
Brecon Beacons: Apple Tree Lodge At Talgarth
Very stylish, stream-side lodge with a wood-fired hot tub
sleeps four, plus one dog
A sophisticated, eco-friendly lodge set in a stream-side orchard on the edge of a little village, ten miles from Crickhowell and close to the ever-popular town of books, Hay-on-Wye. The essence of the quintessentially British lifestyle brand is felt throughout this stylish retreat, including bold bedding from Joules’ latest collection in the king-size bedroom. Underfloor heating makes this a comfortable retreat for couples and families all year round. A private decked area, overlooking the orchard, stream and woodland beyond, leads to a wood-fired hot tub.
There is plenty to see and do during the day – walking, mountain biking, climbing, kayaking, fishing and horse riding – before a spot of stargazing in the evening.
North Yorkshire: Silver Birch Lodge
best of the Dales and Harrogate from one chic spot
sleeps six
Built in 2020 and has been decorated throughout with bedding, furniture, accents and accessories by Joules. Its setting is spectacular: amid the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, yet just a short drive from the attractive spa town of Harrogate. Tucked away on a secluded hillside in the southern Yorkshire Dales, active types and nature lovers alike will be spoilt for choice, returning after an exhilarating day in the fresh country air to flake out on sumptuous sofas next to the cosy wood-burner or to snuggle under a stylish blanket on the outdoor deck with stunning countryside views…and a tempting hot tub.
DEVON: Horslett Barn
magnificent barn with cinema screen, swings, hot tub and easy beach trips
sleeps ten, plus two dogs
An immaculate, open-plan property close to the Devon and Cornish coasts. Families will love the cinema / games room with its enormous bean bags, cinema screen and pool table, not to mention the large, enclosed garden with its climbing frame, swing and slide. The hot tub, too, is always a hit. Joules’ latest collection provides splashes of colour throughout, including brightly-hued dining chairs, a smart sofa and zingy armchairs, swish bed cover fabrics and more. The enormous open-plan living area boasts a vaulted ceiling, Smart TV, wood-burner and French doors. The kitchen, complete with granite work surface and breakfast bar, has two electric ovens and a wine cooler.
If you can tear yourselves away, head north to the expansive golden sands at Widemouth Bay, absorb the spectacular scenery along the South West Coast Path, or trek across Dartmoor National Park and Bodmin Moor.
Summary
With these new cottages, the collection now totals 26 stunning properties across the UK and so something for everyone. I know I will be checking out the prices for later in the year for the Lake District.
Entering our second year of lockdown we never expected to have to holiday in the UK, but maybe it is a blessing in disguise. Maybe it is an opportunity to discover more of what the UK has to offer in the exploring the Dales or taking time to enjoy our stunning coastlines.
Holiday cottages understand the need for customers to have reassurance when booking holidays that refunds will be given due to unforeseen change of circumstances. You can find the companies covid policy on their webpage.
