Sharing Health Technology Globally
Barry Shier, with a background in technology, ‘discovered’ the healthcare industry when looking after his parents. He decided to create a festival of health technology with the purpose of gathering together the world’s best advocates for health tech and sharing the knowledge globally. We all really want to make the world a better place. The Giant festival has been likened to Glastonbury because of the informal yet exciting atmosphere and the opportunity to celebrate with like-minded individuals.
This year in London – at the iconic venue of Chelsea Football Club – in just two days we will have 5,000 delegates, 325 speakers, 150 start-ups and 125 hours of content.
Speakers include our Chairman, London-based Professor Shafi Ahmed who is a cancer surgeon, global educator and visionary, plus co-founder of a VR company that provides novel ways to educate students.
He is opening both days of the conference.
And there’s Ali Parsa, from Babylon Health who is a highly successful serial entrepreneur (recently raising £10 Million) who will discuss the accessibility of healthcare to all.
Meet Dr Janani Param, who is producing our ‘Future is Femtech’ strand which will showcase the latest developments in this fast-growing field and Rose Acton who will discuss reproductive health and fertility.
We even have the One Show’s Dr Saleyha Ahsan who recently returned from Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls, where she was the medical doctor.
